    Problems with Google Chrome

Have been using Chrome for a few weeks now and like its speed but it has started acting 'flaky'.

If I click on a dialogue box arrow I get a popup (shown in the attachment) saying basically that the prog has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly. This will popup for each letter I type in the dialogue which can be frustrating!!! It happens mainly when I try to post in forums. Using Firefox now so not sure if it would happen on this forum but the ones I frequent use vBulletin.

Any ideas. I've tried the usual uninstall - reinstall a few times and have now given up.

Try running Malwarebytes' Anti-malware to see if malware has infected the registry.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop
    |MG| Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.50.1 Download
    * Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
    * At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
    * If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
    * Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
    * When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    * Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
    * When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. Copy and Paste that log into your next reply.

Seen the same error in Firefox, could be related to WMP, see here:

Malwarebytes only found an old prog (freezip.exe) which is not installed but is stored on my backup drive. WMP plugin is not installed.

Doing a Google search there are lots of sites recommending a registry clean. Do you recommend this?

Done quite a bit of on-line reading and it is a not uncommon problem with lots of theories on how to fix it. Have re-installed Chrome and got the pop-up on starting but with a restart it is working OK.

    ??????????????
