POP3 mail connect error 10060
I have a bit of a mindbending email problem. Recently I moved my email server from one server to another (all hosted) and since the move my incoming email for this account has stopped working. I can send, but not receive email.
When I try to connect for inbound I get Connect Error 10060 - a socket error that implies the server is not responding. However from another machine in the same network I can happily telnet to port 110. From my main machine I can also happily telnet to port 25 on that box... just not port 110.
I've checked the registry for any hardcoded references to my domain/port, but there's nothing untoward.
So i'm lost...
Has anybody got a clue what else I can do to diagnose or fix?
- It's not an Outlook issue as telnet has the same problem.
- If I turn off a/v (Avast) and Firewall (Windows) I get the same result
- It cant be DNS because it resolves to the right IP but just won't connect to that port
