    uninstalling stocked browser?


    Hello, i have a question is there a way i can completly uninstall the stocked browser that comes with windows so i can install another one? or would me uninstalling it be bad for my pc?

    No.

    MS will tolerate other browsers, but there still are a couple of cases where you MUST use IE.

    I use Firefox and I find aggravating that sometimes I'm forced to use IE to get the job done.

    There is no way to uninstall IE 8 anyway, best bet if you don't want to see it so often is to turn it off in programs and features - Windows Features - Turn On or Off

    ahh man i wanted to get rid of it but i guess not. thanks for help ill try out the link xxxdannyxxx posted and try using a different browser. thanks for help again.

    Turning windows features on/off is the closest thing you'll get to removing IE from your system. I'm happy cause I don't see it anymore, and windows is happy cause it's still there, I feel like it's a good compromise ^_^
