Gmail accidentally resetting accounts, years of correspondence vanish

    Most companies still use tape for off site backup. I know every large company that I have worked for is still tape based.

    Yeah, it's smart on their part. I thought they had moved away from it. I didn't imagine that Gmail data was backed up as such (beyond hard disk).

    It Still showing Today (01/03/2011) as disrupted. Perhaps it's a time zone issue.
