IE8 issues... Hello all,
Windows 7 is going great so far but after a few hours of use IE8 quit working. When executing IE it flickers for a sec like its going to open then closes. There is not a process running for it either. I can't figure out how to fix it. I couldn't find an install for IE8 that I could try reinstalling with. I keep getting "Internet Explorer 8 is not supported on this system etc." There is not a vista or Windows 7 install on the MS site... Anyone had this issue? It was working fine at first... No application errors or clues in the Event Viewer either. Any help appreciated, thanks!

Shawn Thanks for the advice but it appears that to apply this fix I would be able to have to get into IE8. I'm not able to even get the application to execute. Thanks for your reply though! | My System Specs

Alpha02,
You can use step 2 to go through the Control Panel to open Internet Options to do this. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self built custom OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 CPU Intel i7-980X 3.3 Ghz (3.48 Ghz OC'd) Motherboard ASUS P6X58D Premium Memory 12 GB (2GBx6) DDR3 PC3-16000 2000 MHz Kingston HyperX Graphics Card Sapphire HD5870 Eyefinity 6 2GB Sound Card Realtek HD Audio ALC889 Integrated Chip Monitor(s) Displays 3x 27" Asus VE278Q Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution Mouse Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution PSU OCZ Series Gold OCZZ1000M 1000W Case Corsair Obsidian 800D Cooling Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme Copper CPU heat sink w/120 MM Hard Drives 160GB OCZ RevoDrive X2

keep it open when you open IE...
does it open and close??? I see the iexplore.exe process begin in process explorer but it only lasts as the application flickers for a second which I mentioned it does as if it's going to open and then terminates. In XP you can launch IE in a safe mode which disables all browser add-ons. Can you do that in Windows 7? I wasn't able to locate that executable if so... Ideas? | My System Specs
