Changing the Download location in IE9

I am running the released RTM version of IE9, and I'm noticing that I cannot change the download location (default) in the new Download Manager. Can anyone else change this and get it to stick?

Hi,

If you click the Tools button then View Downloads

Name: IE9 View Downloads.PNG
Views: 585
Size: 26.8 KB

You can then click Options which will give you a Browse button to select a new download location.

Size: 60.6 KB

I've just checked it and it works

That's what I meant by it not sticking. I can change it all I want, but it won't accept the change. It goes back to Downloads after browsing. I wanted to know if it worked for others, or if everyone was having the same problem. So far, on two systems, I can't get it to stick.

Have you tried manually changing it in regedit?

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

Try changing it in there

Have had mine set to my Data drive since beta and it has stayed the same through RC and RTM.

No problems.

Weird. I finally tried downloading a file and it defaulted to my preferred location on my storage drive, but in the Options for the download manager, it still says Downloads.

Can not use codec packages with WMP after changing location..
I have an SSD, and have changed my programfiles directory to my D drive. That said, there is an install of WMP12 in my c/programfiles x86 folder, and one on my d/programfiles folder. The one on D apparently is my default one, and when I install a codec pack, such as the CCCP, it will not...

Changing Java cache location

Hi guys :) I'll post this in here because I don't think it really qualifies as a "problem" for Browsers and Mail. Basically, I have recently got into Modding (The Sims 3 if your interested). and find myself downloading all sorts of stuff from all over the place for various things. As you can...
