Can't find buttons in Windows Live Mail

I recently set up a new computer using Windows 7 64 bit. Windows Live Mail no longer seems to have the buttons that showed in the version I was using on my previous computer with Windows 7 32 bit. In fact, it looks like the older version of Live Mail from 2009, which wasn't nearly as good as the more recent version. Is there any way to get the same functionality in this program that the 32 bit version had? Is there likely to be a newer version to update to? If so, where can I find it? Windows Update doesn't show any updates waiting to be downloaded.

The current version is 2011, which uses the ribbon toolbar. The older version hid the menu bar, press the ALT key to show it.
