I'm having the same problem - start a search and the autocomplete list shows but clicking on an item nothing happens. However, if I type a search in the address bar the autocomplete does work but the search results shown are from Bing.
Using FireFox, Google autocomplete works correctly, the problem only happens when using IE9 (works fine using IE8).

It works fine since sometime yesterday (18-Mar-2011), don't know why, perhaps google update something automatically.

I made an attempt here and everything went as expected. I do not use IE almost never ... sometimes occurred which was mentioned above ... Make more attempts and if the problem persists, let us know!

After days trying to get this working it just decided on it's own to start working correctly. Suspect an update from Google.

Your problem seems to be solved, right?! If so, ask you to click the triangle at the top right of this post and request: marked as solved". And remember to come back to this forum whenever you need it!
