color management in IE9

Is there something one has to do to get IE9 to take notice of monitor profiles? It seems to respect image profiles, but not monitor profiles. Surely this can't be true, can it?

IE 9 is colour aware load this page in IE9 to check
Is your system ICC Version 4 ready?
Opera & Google are not colour aware & display the top image the same as the bottom one
Firefox 4 displays the middle image
IE 9 displays it correctly.

Everything I've read on this says IE9 just converts the image to sRGB, rather than to your monitor profile. So if you have a wide-gamut monitor, the colors will not be correct. IE9 seems to assume all monitors are sRGB.

Have you any sources ?
Seems to be displaying images correctly & I have a wide gamut NEC MultiSync LCD2690WUXi2 Monitor.
If you want to make sure install the colour aware Safari browser & compare with IE 9

And as with the RC, it ignores monitor profiles: PC Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review

There are a couple of dozen posts there about it.

Here is the test - set your monitor profile to a profile which will make your image look bad in Photoshop. I simply used ProPhotoRGB as my monitor profile, which makes images look unsaturated in Photoshop. Look at the same image in IE9 - it is not unsaturated; just the same as with my normal monitor profile. So IE9 is not using the monitor profile.
