    Chrome not responding

    Hi

I got a laptop a while ago and it came with Windows 7 Home Basic 64 bit. I installed Google Chrome as soon as I got it as I do on all my PCs and it worked fine. There was never a problem with it.

Recently I got Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with all updates and all of a sudden Google Chrome says that it is not responding and that I can wait for Chrome to respond or close it. If I wait, it never recovers and if I close chrome it says it is checking for a solution.

I have tried reinstalling but it gives me the same problem!!

    Please help

    Thanks

Are you using a third party firewall or antivirus that may have decided to block chrome?

Well since you are the first person I've seen with this complaint, my first question would be what do the two systems have in common?

It's a common misconception that because a piece of software didn't cause a problem yesterday it's immune from scrutiny today. I'm not saying norton is the problem, but it's not outside the realm of possibility either.
If it is a common factor between the two systems. The possibility a update or change is preventing a component of chrome from working properly is a bit more likely as well.

Could also be caused by a recent update to Chrome. Especially if you have a beta or dev version with some flags set. The pre-rendering flag seem particularly iffy with me.

I haven't got a beta or developer version and there probably isn't much thats the same between them...

My desktops hardware is a Core i3 3.20 GHz 3GBs of RAM and an ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series Graphics card.
My Laptops hardware is a Celeron 2.20 GHz 2GBs of RAM and an Intel Mobile 4 Sereies Express Chipset.

They both have IE 9, Windows 7 SP1 (ultimate and home premium), Microsoft office 2010 Pro Plus and skype.

One has Norton 360 4.0 and the other 5.0

Do these programs have anything to do with it?

My chrome version is 10.0.648.151 for both
