Passwords in IE9 Hi...
How do I get IE9 to prompt to save username and passwords for different sites on a regular basis? The reason I mention "regular basis" is that it seems on some sites IE9 does prompt, but on others - particularly Gmail - I have not received such a prompt and I have to manually input my username and password. The only problem is that previously I had no problems with IE9 and the password thing in IE9. This is fresh install on a brand new machine.
Thanks.
PS: I have tried going into Internet Options (IE9), into the security tab and have the relevant options checked. | My System Specs |

Try Internet Options -> Content -> Auto Complete Settings -> check both password options near the bottom of the window.
Despite it all, IE9 simply won't react to some websites when you try to log in, one example being deviantART. Luckily, most websites offer you a "remember me" option which you can use instead. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom OS Windows 8 Release Preview CPU Intel Core2Duo E7500 Motherboard Gigabyte EP43-UD3L Memory Kingston 4GB DDR2 (2x2GB) Graphics Card nVidia GeForce 9800GT Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays ASUS VH222D WIDE HD 1080P Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech Wireless Combo MK260 Mouse Logitech Wireless Combo MK260 PSU 500W Case Custom Midi Tower Hard Drives Western Digital WD3200KS. This program should have been part of the os: IE PassView - Password Manager Program for Internet Explorer
It lets you view password data that has been stored by IE, and, more importantly, lets you selectively delete. Once a site's stored data is deleted, IE will ask you if you want to store it the next time you log in. I've used it in IE8 but I haven't updated to IE9 yet so I'm not sure it will work, but I expect it will.

Yeah, I have the same problem....seems kinda hit or miss on what sites it'll prompt to save. Most of mine are fine, but, of course, this forum, vista forums, and the 8 forums don't get the prompt. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Toshiba Satellite L455D OS Windows 7 Home Premium CPU Amd Semperon 2.10GHz Memory 2 Gig Graphics Card ATI Radeon 3100 Sound Card Realtek Monitor(s) Displays 15.6 inch Screen Resolution 1366x768 Mouse Logitech Wireless Hard Drives 250gig Internet Speed 16/2 cable |

I think this is realated to Windows Credentials.
I can save a username and pw to a website, but when i log off and log back on it doesnt remember it or it does remember it but the site wont let me login because it does not recongnize the credentials from Windows 7. | My System Specs

Isn't there a "Keep me logged in" option on the websites? I never used to like it, but since I'm always checking them, it's quite helpful. | My System Specs

You can use some add-ons, such as Lastpass or Roboform. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number xp and win7 OS xp sp3 Passwords in IE9 problems? All times are GMT -5. The time now is 11:45 AM.
