F11 conflict (IE 8 / speaker volume)
I've just purchased an HP laptop (G62-415NR) with Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit). Naturally, there is very little documentation included, for either the computer or the operating system. I'm new to Windows 7. (I've set my system specs in my profile, in case further info is needed.)
I don't know whether this would fall under customizing the laptop or the operating system; I plan to also find an HP forum in case this is not the appropriate venue for this question.
The issue is that I cannot set Internet Explorer to fullscreen using the F11 key, because pressing F11 causes the volume control to pop up instead. Worse, when I use the View menu to set the browser to fullscreen, I cannot F11 it back.
Does Windows 7 map the F11 key to the volume control, or is this an HP-specific setting? If this is a Windows 7 setting, how can I change the keypress that launches the volume control, so that I can get back to the browser functionality I'm used to?
Thanks in advance.
