- I have already installed a Web application (C#, asp.net) via an installation CD successfully in my home PC.This application requires .net framework 2.0 & 3.0.
Since windows 7 is equipped with 3.5 and above it does not allow us to install 2.0 & 3.0 which came with the installation CD
Do I need to install .net framework 2.0 & 3.0 in my PC ? when I go thru the forums it says 3.5 has inbuilt 2.0 & 3.0 with extra features of WCF & WPF.
- IIS 7 banner displays when typed http://localhost/ at URL. That means IIS is working.
This application usually runs on a Server, but for purposes of software testing we have installed it on our stand alone PCs (connected to a LAN) with the same installation CD at our office. Our office uses XP and Server 2003 etc... So they accepts 2.0 & 3.0.
- Recently I have purchased a Intel core i3 PC with a good configuration and installed Windows 7 Ultimate and it is working fine ( I'm using a HSDPA USB Stick supported by WCDMA for internet connectivity)
The Network Connection adaptors show two Icons for Local Area Connection (Realtek PCIe GBE) and Mobile Broad Band Connection (Mobitel Huawei).
- I have assigned an IP address as 10.1.0.10, subnet 255.0.0.0 and gateway 10.1.0.1 to this LAN connection
(I'm puzzled on this ...do I need an IP address since its' a Home PC (standalone)
and I'm not connected to a LAN)
- The other Mobile broad band connection works fine ( I think it is a DHCP)
The IIS shows the created web site (under default website) built by the installation CD with required components...
Web site is physically hosted into the C: drive during the installation process.
Framework in Microsoft.Net directory in C:\windows shows following folders :
V1.0.3705, V1.1.4322, V2.0.50727, V3.0, V3.5,V4.0.30319
The reason of installing this on my home PC is to do necessary modification at my leisure time (after work)
Please advise me how to retrieve this web application at your earliest possible time. .....
Thanks
