Ive tried everything maybe im crazy?

Hi guy , I have been repeatedly haveing my live hotmail account hacked , I think. To explain I was temporarily block from my hotmail and i reset the password and then 3 days later again it happened and i tried and now it says that i have tried to many times today and i need to wait 24 hours to try and reset however i only tried 1 time today . iv tried to report it and nothing ive dont know what to do i even filled out a questionare that gave microsoft the info they needed to return my account and they imediately responde within an hour. the problem is i have not been able to enter my email for a week now because every day it says theres an error plz try again or that i have tried to many time. Also i woul like to know how its possible to receive email from myself that i never wrote and my friends say that i wrote them some spam message but i did not however when i see what thewy showed me i did not believe me. Am i going crazy or what? ive had this email for 10 years at least i use a complex password usually combining lower and uppercase plus numer and symbols at least 10 characters long the reason is because i buy alot of stuff online for my business. i do not keep any info there i put all onto usb but still what is going on. Please try to read this and dont give advice such as try resetting you password or something like that ive done all the basics and im very good with computers so i know the basics. ps i live in mexico and am an american but not sure what to do now?

Hello Jesmars1, welcome to the forum. :)

Just to cover base, have you tried running any malware/spyware scans on your PC?
A good one to try: Malwarebytes

You're not going crazy Jesmars, and your email has definitely been hacked. I've had some of the same problems you have, particularly the receipt of emails from my own email address (that I never wrote) and the sending of false emails to people on my contact list. I can help you with some of the problems, but unfortunately, not all of them.

First, I suggest you follow Irene's good advice and run the scans to get rid of any malware in your email account (or anywhere on your system).

Then, follow the steps below, and hopefully there's help for you there.

Even though you've already changed your password, please read through the information below because there are additional steps you can take at the same time that you change your password that can start the protection process.

First line of defense is to change your password and all "secret questions" and "answers."

Then, go on-line and sign up for the free service in which you give MSN/Hotmail your cell phone number and they text you a secret code to allow you to get back into your email because the hackers locked you out.

Next, when you do get back into your email, always "log out" of your email when you exit, rather than just hitting the exit X icon. Hitting the exit X doesn't end your email session, only 'logging out' actually shuts it down. If you just press exit, that leaves it available to be hacked because technically, it's still open, even after you've gone.

By the way, when you are signing into your account, if you get a popup message that says you're signed in to multiple locations when you’re not, you need to sign out of those other locations. In that situation too, it is possible that you are being HACKED from one of those other locations. (The popup notification should show you all of the locations where you're supposedly signed in. All of your IM conversations can be seen at all those locations.)

TO SIGN OUT OF THE MULTIPLE LOCATIONS - FROM YOUR COMPUTER
Sign into WLM. Click your name and then select “Sign out from everywhere.”

TO SIGN OUT OF THE MULTIPLE LOCATIONS - FROM THE WEB
Go to your Hotmail/Windows Live profile and sign in. Click on the arrow next to your name in the upper–right corner, and then select: “Sign out from everywhere.”

Finally, since most hacking is done through your address book, temporarily delete all contacts in your address book. Some sources advise leaving it this way for a week or more --- I think that's a matter of judgment. I deleted my address book several months ago after I was really badly hacked and oddly enough, have found that for the most part, I really can live without it. And the good news is that since I've deleted it, I haven't been hacked once.

This last bit of information is the bad news, and that is: sometimes your account is hacked by someone stealing your account information, and they use it from a totally separate location to send out the infected emails. So, since the problem isn't connected with your system, there is nothing you can do on your system to change it. And even changing your email wouldn't help because the hacker can still continue to send out infected emails from some other location, still using your old email address. The only way you might possibly be able to control it might be if there was some way to actually "cancel" or "delete" your email account. And even then, it may be possible for those phony emails to continue to go out.

If nothing above has helped the problem, take a
look at these tutorials to see if there is any help there for you.
