Windows 7: long buffer/load time for videos

long buffer/load time for videos

So ever since I installed FF4 and ie9, i have begun to notice this issue. Whenever I watch videos online, whether it's youtube, divx, or some other web player, there is a rather long buffer time before the video plays. For example, when i tried watching a 1 minute clip, the video would load until the 45 second mark before it starts playing. For a 10 min clip, i usually hav to wait a few minutes before the video plays. This unusually long buffer time occurs in both ie9 and ff4 for me.

Before I installed the new browsers, videos would play instantly, perhaps with only 5 seconds of buffer time. The loading time never stretched past 30 seconds like it does now. I have tested the loading times on a couple of my other machines. One of them had FF4 and ie8 and it was instant playback for both browsers, while the other only had ie8, and it too was instant playback.

Has anyone encountered this issue before? Any solutions?
