Windows 7: windows live mail problem

I do not have problems with sending or receiving email thru my Windows Live Mail account when at home. I use Comcast as my internet service provider. When away from home I have a problem sending and receiving email through my Windows Live Mail account. I have to revert to using email thru my Comcast account. I have tried several recommendations from internet blogs but none seem to work.
