Source: Download Firefox 5 Release Candidate (RC) - Firefox 5.0b7 - SoftpediaThe Release Candidate development milestone of the next major iteration of Firefox is now available to early adopters for testing.
I would say that Firefox 5 RC signals the proximity of the final release of Firefox 4.0’s successor, if it weren’t for the fact that Mozilla already confirmed that it will launch the next version of its open source browser on June 21st, 2011.
“As part of Mozilla’s new rapid release development process the beta development channel has been updated with a Firefox release candidate,” revealed Christian Legnitto, Firefox release manager at Mozilla.
Just yesterday I was telling Softpedia users that Mozilla was offering a new Beta Build of Firefox 5. At the same time, the people building the open source browser were discussing the possibility of making Firefox 5.0b6 the RC development milestone.
It turned out that the company needed to implement just one additional fix, and this led to the creation of yet another Beta update, Firefox 5.0b7.
Later yesterday, Mozilla slapped the RC label on top of Firefox 5.0b7, and released it to testers.
“For desktop users, if you previously installed a beta version of Firefox 4 you will receive an automated update notification within 24 to 48 hours,” Legnitto added. “We highly encourage add-on developers to test their add-ons with the new version and mark them as compatible as soon as possible.”
Because of the overhaul of Firefox’s development process and release cycle, Firefox 5 RC is still served to early adopters through the Beta channel.
What Mozilla is actually saying with this release is that it’s gearing up to finalize the browser and offer it to end users, which should happen next week, on June 21st.

They are, ever so slightly improving the UI with each version so far.
With F5 they made all the browser UI buttons look a lot better & smoother, they toned down the heavy shadows from underneath the buttons which I welcomed as F4's look awful.
Starting with F6 they improved the section before the URL (site identity block), it looks more streamlined with the rest of the UI.
I agree with what Airbot has already stated, I think the new UI introduced with F4 is here to stay but that doesn't mean Mozilla won't keep changing it ever so slightly with every version as I've just mentioned above.
EDIT:
This is some of the new stuff they already have planned, granted it hasn't been updated in a while but I suspect you'll see much of the stuff presented here in later versions of Firefox :)

Another later build than Beta 7 is available - a little slimmer. Some are saying it's the final like majorgeeks already, but who could really say it's the final or not quite. Can get it at MG, or here.
Was going to use the installer to update from Beta 7, but opened up Help - About Firefox in the browser, and it auto updated itself to this build.
Yeah, that's the right version number, but maybe it's your skin or something as mine showed 5 on the about window with Beta 7, and this latest version.
Also, my Beta 7 build (and this build) doesn't have any "Check for Updates" button anymore (think they took it out in these builds) like yours does there. Only would auto update when going to the window if there was an update available. So don't know what's going on with your install there.
I downloaded from here:

You might get a sign in message, but just reload. It was from a thread about 5 final being available. In any case, it all updated fine, and I'll just go from here. Don't use it very often as Opera is my default
Enabled default skin, and:

You must remember, I have a custom theme on Seven as well
