Windows 7: IE9 won't play FLV files

IE9 won't play FLV files


Hello there,
I'm trying to play Canon DPP tutorials on Canon website, my old laptop with XP and IE8 plays the video fine, my new laptop Windows 7 IE9 will not play them, please help, here is the site http://www.learn.usa.canon.com/galleries/galleries/tutorials/dpp_tutorials.shtml

I had the same problem with IE9 - it did, however, work in Opera and Chrome.

I don't think the Shark007 codec is the solution, why is my XP working without it ?

You can use an FLV player FLV Player - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com ... You will also need an up to date Macromedia plug-in to watch Flash videos
I'm able to play flv files with WMP and IE9

I should have mentioned that I do have Adobe Flash player which does play FLV and F4V file format...

Which version of flash player are you using ? and which IE9 ? 32 bit or 64bit ? You have to use the 32 bit flash player on 32 bit... if your using ie9 64bit - there is another flash player for that.

FWIW, ie9, 32 bit with 32 bit flash works here on Windows 7 64bit on that site, without extra codecs or 3rd party players.

Hello all, I have found the answer, it's the compatibility view, enable command bar and under PAGE click on compatibility view and video started to play....Thanks all for help...
