    I know it's been awhile since this thread has been posted to but I came here looking for an answer so maybe others will also...
    I found that turning off the " Smartscreen Filter " under Tools fixed my problem...
    Hope this helps...

    Well...i did the next procedure and now it´s fixed:

    Solution:
    Open registry editor and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main, create a DWORD value, and name it TabProcGrowth.

    TabProcGrowth=0: Tabs will be created as threads(instead of processes) in the iexplore.exe process(only 1 process exist, thus no save path resets);

    TabProcGrowth=1: Tabs will be created as separate sub-processes according to different mandatory integrity levels;

    TabProcGrowth>1: Tabs will be created as separate sub-processes until the maximum number of tabs(specified by this value) is reached;

    No TabProcGrowth value: Default, amount of free physical memory will determine the number of sub-processes.

    I set it to 1 and is working after restarting IE.

    I tried with the IEFAQS registering dlls scripts, and it doesn´t solve anything in my case.

    This may of been asked, but I would recommend restarting your computer. I had a similar issue with Chrome and it was fixed with this issue. My issue was about all of my pages being opened in new tabs.

    new tab wont work problem fixed

    For me anyway, Hi all. I tried all the remedies that I could find on this site. Also tried a few elsewhere but to nothing worked. What I did to fix my machine was to disable tabbed browsing in the options menu. Restarted IE to confirm links opened without tabs. Links now opened in new windows rather than tabs. So far so good, at least I have new windows back. I then went back to options and re-enabled tabbed browsing, restarted IE and everything worked again.
