I never did use the beta versions, but judging from the problems people have been posting on the forums and newsgroups since the final versions of WLM 2011 and IE9 came out last year, I'll wait for the next updates. Sure they work, just not as reliably as Outlook Express or Vista's Windows Mail. That's why many posters have gone back to WLM 2009 (or Thunderbird) and IE8.

I have read many issues with IE9 and maybe should stay with IE8 as it has been proven stable.

I have installed it twice and it seems I always go back to IE8 for some reason.
The main reason I keep uninstalling it is because of th elocation of the Favorites Star on the upper right hand corner and can't permently relocate it like IE8.
I just can't see why Microsoft decided to do that but I guess they know all and who am I to change that.

How many of you have upgraded to IE9?
How many still on IE8?
Even if you don't plan to use IE9, it is still a good idea to upgrade. Performance improvements are just one part of the evolution that the pbrowser has gone through. Think of it as just another security update for your OS. Then just choose one of the dozens other browsers that come close to what you expect from a browser.

You could upgrade, but it's still unsatisfying compared to the other browsers. Like .gifs still don't run at full speed after all this time. 2 pages that I visit won't display everything fully, even after refreshing (only in IE9). One page on another site needs to be refreshed once to display the fonts correctly (only IE9); ads on Ustream sometimes makes the browser lag (only IE8&9).

It's still fast though, but I wish that it performed well in everything else, like Firefox and Chrome.

Oh yeah, and some sites like What's my ip still think you're running IE7. I think you need to modify a string in the registry for sites to know which version you're using.

I am also going to wait until forced to it. I have used it on a different OS and it takes some getting used to. I don't use 3rd party browsers although I've test driven most of them and just don't see the attraction, IE is great, well, except for IE7.
I usually don't upgrade just because it's new. Sometimes old is better because I think software developers try to have users do the developing.
This and $1.25 should get you a cuppa coffee.

2. How many still on IE8?
3. ?

Should you install IE9? Well that is really up to you to decide.

1. Not yet.
2. One Win 7 Ultimate Laptop.
Two Vista Ultimate Lap tops.

{Although happy with IE, Firefox is the main browser used.}
