    IE 9 Issue

Every time I open IE9 I am asked if I want it as my default browser even though each time I select yes. I have gone to default programs and selected it there too but I am still getting asked every time I open up the browser. It is more annoying than anything. Can anyone suggest anything to sort it out?

Have you tried going to internet options, from the gear on the top right, then programs, set as default, and you can uncheck that box to notify if it is not default.

    See if that helps.

    Hi derekimo,

I tried setting it as default from Internet Options as you suggested but the problem still persisted. I unchecked the telling me if it was not default and that worked however there has to be an underlying reason why setting the default does not work .. it will bug me now but I will continue with the letting me know unchecked until I find another solution.

    Hi Derekimo

The problem seems to be Google Chrome. I had uninstalled it and it was immediately after that I noticed my links in my emails were not working as well. I have re-installed Chrome and the links are working. I reset IE9 as my default browser and no more telling me it is not default .... seems installing Chrome has issues. Now to work out how to uninstall it and not have the problems.

Thanks for posting back, I know that will help someone else.

That's a weird effect from Chrome, it must have changed something that wasn't removed in the uninstall.
