Same Cookies show up every time i log on
but as far as i can tell, they're not tracking or malicious ones.
one is java, one is sun, one is for frontierville which is a facebook game i always play, one is for microsoft.com, one says antivir updater, and i can't remember the other. i should have written them down.
it's the identically same cookies turning up every single time i reboot or start the computer, exactly the same ones. yeah, i know that's redundant. i should say it a couple hundred times to give you the same effect of these cookies maybe. or maybe not, you'd just say "TLDR" to me...
it asks me if i want to delete, temporarily accept, or accept each one, one by one. i don't know what program is asking me about this. but whatever it is, sometimes it will detect a new cookie and ask me, and if i choose always allow, it never asks me again. if i choose always delete, it never asks me again. yet this same group of cookies, doesn't matter whether i choose always delete, always allow, or temporarily allow, they keep coming up. i'm to the point now i just randomly click on any of the 3 choices in the hopes that one of them might "take".
windows 7 version 6.1 service pack 1
windows has updated a number of times since this started, it hasn't changed.
64 bit computer
i've uninstalled (clean) the browsers and reinstalled, didn't change anything. i doubt it's anything to do with them. i've got each set to "don't delete stuff on close".
um, ie 9, version 9.0.8112.16421 update versions: 9.0.1; chrome 12.0.742.100; firefox 4.0.1
i know it's weird having 3 browsers, but for a while a certain update of firefox wouldn't run some games so i had to install chrome, now i can't decide which to keep.
i uninstalled my gadgets, that didn't help (i reinstalled them, i can give you a list if you want, it's just a clock, a date & time, nasa tv, and a couple others)
malware program keeps coming up clean mostly, if it finds something, it isn't anything to do with the programs these cookies are for.
antivirus comes up almost always clean, when it isn't, it's not anything to do with the programs these cookies are for.
cleaned the registry a couple times with a couple different registry programs just to make sure.
i'm fairly sure these are harmless and not tracking, i tried fining info with google and couldn't find anything that mentioned these specific cookies. but one of them is www*microsoft*com (sorry it's * instead of . or it changes to an awfully long link) and yup, it comes up and says "new cookie detected" for that one too every single time the computer starts, without fail.
i haven't yet tried leaving a bowl of cream on the back step on the night of the full moon for the gremlins, i keep forgetting to buy cream.
if i drank coffee, i would seriously consider throwing it at the monitor. or something equally fiendish. maybe i'll save the next freshly-killed mouse my cat leaves that i don't notice and step on with my bare feet and rub the blood on the top of the monitor, sort of like passover. now there's a thought...
thank you for taking the time to read this. even if you can't help, it's nice to know someone is on the other end.
rapidly approaching insanity,
