IS this an upgrade or clean install?
When firefox crashes like that its often an addon. happens to me often because I use beta extensions. Besides os has anything else changed on the computer? your options are (assuming you dont have febe (backup addon for firefox profile)) re-install firefox, re-starting in safe mode and disabling addons that might be problematic, or retoring from a backup

BTW we could use your hardware specs.

Had the same problem today morning. Used Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Uninstall Software, Remove Programs, Solve uninstall problems and removed firefox, restarted the system and installed firefox again. It worked. Try it and let me know.
