Google's newest change to it's search interface has the navigation bar at the top of the page going from white to black.
I'm seeing more nays than ayes.

Personally I am undecided yet whether I like it or not.

Chrome users may have an advantage, others will have to use an add-on until/if Google creates a toggle switch for it.

noticed it, it hadn't really bothered me though.
They've made it a bit more of a pain to search for hd wallpaper sized images too.

I quite like it. It would be nice to have a way to change the color scheme though. I guess there will be extensions being feverishly developed even as I type.

Why can't they follow the example here and just give you a brief dropdown theme selection to cater to people that prefer a dark or light scheme.

    Forum themes?

actually started a thread about the themes here myself.

I first thought the Black bar was faulty, kept changing with different browsers, still like the other new layout changes & design apart from the new bar, the White design was best, bring it back Google! :)

I have no problem with the layout/design that I can get used to, but I do have visual acuity problems that black exacerbates.

    My reply in Maguscreed's thread:

As in Dwarf's quote, effort has been made to provide a number of skins to suit needs/personal preferences.

Unlike many other forums, where you have a very restrictive choice of skins (if any at all), John (z3r010) has made a great effort on his Forums to provide a number of skins to suit people's needs. It is not compulsive to use a particular one, as each user is free to pick and choose any of the skins which s/he finds most comfortable to use. If, however, you find a problem on one or more of the skins (missing functionallity), please let him know.
Mine happens to be the default, I like the contrast between the various page elements,

One thing that I have noticed is I hesitated to switch back to default after I used the three black themes; black, black wide, and pitch black.
I have a visual difficulty (contrast) with black themes, but there is a softness to these three.

That is probably the reason I do not like the beta black bar that google is trying out now on their search pages.

    Your welcome!

I can understand change. But as in my thread title, you become comfortable with doing something, and someone goes and changes it on you.
