Although encrypted, it could easily be read by third party!

    Hi all,

When I access to my hotmail I have the following message:

"Although this page is encrypted, the information you have entered is to be sent over an unencrypted connection and could easily be read by a third party.

Are you sure you want to continue sending this information"?

If the page is encrypted and protected what does mean the HTTPS protocole used in hotmail? and who is the third party?
Is this a safe message? Is there any way to get ride off it?

    Thank you

It means when you send the email. When you send the email there is no SSL encryption.

    Thank you for the answer.
But in the address bar, the protocole is https, not http, so it should be secured shouldn't it?

Only when you are viewing the page, but the moment you send an email that is no longer protected. Because the email protocol has no encryption component like HTTP and HTTPS. Thus the email is sent in plain text flying though several nodes in the internet.
