Internet Explorer 9 open new window from taskbar

I know somewhere there is a simple answer to this, but I have been scratching my head and googling for hours with no joy.

I have IE9 browser pinned to my taskbar.
When I click on it a windows internet page opens with my home page (google). The E icon now disappears and I have the google (or what ever site I am on) in the taskbar.

Ideally what I want to do is click on the IE9 icon in the taskbar and it REMAINS there and the home page opens up with the bar remaining in the taskbar.

So for example if I clicked on the IE9 icon five times I would have five separate pages open with 5 bars all showing google in the taskbar.

I hope that makes sense, I used to have it that way before I reformatted .

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

    Hello TheEagles,

You should be able to right click on the IE9 icon on the taskbar, then click on Internet Explorer to open a new window of IE9 to your homepage.

You could also press and hold Shift, and click on the IE9 icon on the taskbar to open a new window of IE9 to your homepage.

    Hope this helps,

I did find that out thanks, but before I reformatted it I could just left click and it would open a separate page for each click. Ideally I would like to get it back to that way.......basically with the ie9 e icon always remaining on the left side of the taskbar

    You're welcome.

Shift + left click on IE9 icon will let you as well. :)

The only way that I know of to do that from the taskbar is to have a shortcut of IE9 in Quick Launch.

Middle-click also opens a new window.

Thanks for your replies .....no wonder I am having trouble finding a solution if you experts can't

I definitely didn't use quick launch.

I can assure you in my taskbar I used to have only two icons pinned ......windows mail and also i/e 9

When I clicked on the mail icon, obviously that opened and used the mail icon to show it had opened, that left just the i/e 9 icon. If I clicked on that the icon remained and an ie page opened. If I clicked on it again another ie opened.

Would love to know how I done it
