Hotmail, Gmail, Win 7 Phone Problems

First time poster after lurking for several weeks reading posts. Thanks for such a great forum that you all have made.

My question - Two weeks ago I picked up a HTC Trophy Win 7 phone. In an effort to sync more things with the phone, I set up a LIVE.com account using my gmail address. I'm using the LIVE.com to store my calendar and contacts. I opted to foward my gmail to the LIVE.com account so I'd only have to log in one place. Now, all the LIVE.com email app does is store my emails i.e. if I delete emails on my phone or on gmail.com it will never update on LIVE.com. Last time I logged into my LIVE.com account I had 300 (previously deleted) emails.

Is this just a problem with fowarding email from one account to another? Any other thoughts would be great.

My last step is to simply open another email account at LIVE.com and slowly start to migrate my emails there. I'm hesitant to do this however, it's kinda like moving and you always end up missing something.

    Thanks for the help.

Hi mixedgasdiver and welcome to Seven Forums.

f you are just using Gmail to forward your mails to another account then it cannot forward the deletions so they will remain on you other accounts. If however you use an email client such as Windows Live Mail or Thunderbird to gather together all your mail accounts and you use the IMAP protocol to transfer the mails the mail folders will remain synchronized so your deletions will be reflected on the client.

I suggest using WL Mail, sign in with your Hotmail account, add your Gmail account, (providing its your main mail address) then delete Hotmail. Then set Gmail like this:-
