Cut--Copy--Paste using IE9

On some sites that I try to ccp a small magnifier pops up & a small square box that contains a diagonal blue arrow. It appears to work on copy but when I paste my system freezes and nothing works.

How can I correct this.

I went to the word viewer 2003 but I didn't find the paste options button

From the Word page you want to paste the text into, click on the MS Office button in the upper-left corner of the screen and go all the way down to Word Options. Select: Advanced, then Cut, Copy + Paste, and scroll down to: 'Show paste options button' and 'Use smart cut and paste options.

I did what you said BUT the WORD page I want to paste into has NO MS Office button in the upper left

Highlight first, then to copy, Ctrl c, then to paste, click where you want to insert, then Ctrl v.

Thanks I tried that.

What puzzles me is that my laptop will freeze on some sites and not on others.

I'm thinking that possibly security is somehow involved.
