    Problem with Chrome and SevenForums

    Here's what happens: The SevenForums home page loads without problems, I can then select a category e.g. Browsers & Mail, but when I try to view a specific thread there is a bit of a delay and then "page not found." Can't get back to the homepage from there, have to close the browser.

    Other forums work fine (xda-developers, MacRumors), the problem only occurs on SevenForums so far.

    Chrome is up to date (12.0.742.122 m).

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

    Any insights?

    I've been using Chromium with no issues. Right now I'm using a snapshot version 14.0.832.0

    Edit: Just for chuckles you might try changing to a different forum skin. If you're on Wide go normal, normal, go Wide etc..

    Or just update. Chances are if it's in the Chromium base code it's already been fixed in the 14.x series.

    You can download Windows snapshots here:
    http://build.chromium.org/f/chromium/snapshots/Win/

    Download the Win32 zip file instead of an installer. That way you can try it without disturbing the chrome install you have currently.

    edit: unfortunately the way they have the snapshot tree set up, you can't tell the version until you run it and do About Chromium. They only list the build numbers. But I look in the changelog.xml to see if there's a whole bunch of issues. If so, I look through until I find a snapshot with a clean change log. I start at the bottom of the page with the newest build and work my way back to find the newest/cleanest trade-off build. If nothing looks good I wait a few days.

    @MilesAhead

    Thanks for the suggestions, it seems to be cured, using Chrome now without a hitch. :)

    The only difference I can think of since the last time I tried using Chrome is that I updated the video driver. I guess the answer is as simple as that.

    Odd, though, that it only affected SevenForums and none of the other forums that I visit.

    Glad you got it working. It's not always possible to figure out what the culprit was. Guess that's what inspired the if it ain't broke don't fix it adage. :)
