The publisher of this program couldn't be verified.

I'm using Internet Explorer 9 and I've been trying to download a file I need. However, it keeps giving me the message "The publisher of this program couldn't be verified", with options to "Open" the file (which doesn't work because it's an incomplete file; I guess it blocked the download), "Learn more..." which is useless and "Cancel". There's no option to download the file, even though I know I can trust it and it's a file I want.

Does anyone know how to get around this?
Real answers please, not just "get chrome lol"

Take a look at the "security" tab under Tools/Internet Options. If it doesn't work with default settings, you can lower the security level for "Internet" or add the site name to the "Trusted sites" zone. There is also a "Certificates" section under the "Content" tab which is rather complicated. Some sites are blocked simply because they forgot to renew their certificate on time. In the past, when I encountered a problem there was usually an option to by-pass the protection, but it's possible there could be a group policy setting that was changed from its default in order to further "lock down" IE. Did you set up IE yourself or was the computer supplied by your company?
