Windows 7 - sort sent items

Using windows 7 and windows live mail. Seems I am unable to sort sent items as needed. Is there a way to sort them by name or a way to change the existing method?

As far as im aware the only sorting options are under the "search for a message box"

1. Procedures vary between WLM 2009 version and 2011 version.
Which one do you have ?

2. State precisely how do you want to sort the sent items.
You can sort them by To, by Sent, by Subject, by Account etc..

3. Why bother with such a method ?
How about setting up sub-folders, each with a name of your recipient.
Drag/Drop ( or Move To option ) and place the sent items to the corresponding sub-folders.
Will that work ? Or, do I misunderstand your need ?
In my opinion,( underline ' in my opinion' ) the Sent Items folder should be empty.

Open WLM 2011 > click the Sent Items folder > View > Sort by > list of options in the drop-down box..... see screenshot.
