Possibly really dumb Firefox question, but....

a friend of mine once told me that "the only stupid question is the one you never ask" -- so, here goes.

Why does Firefox not display favicons in the jumplist, like IE 9 does?

Not that it's any big deal one way or the other, I'm just curious.

probably because the jumplist is a microsoft tool and so is Ie9. :)
interestingly when i copied a seven forums shortcut to the desktop from firefox and Ie9
the favicons show in ie9 and not firefox.

It looks like it could be a bug, and no I do not mean a virus or anything like malware.

It has to do with a difference how Windows IE handles .ico files, and what Mozilla has to do in order to compensate. (Similar to what boohbah posted)

See this post for a possible work-round: Firefox jump list icons
    Again...(Similar to what boohbah posted)

What version do you have? The stable 6.0.1 just came out.
Post #7 in the above bugzilla link talks of a patch on 11-07-14.
