Windows Mail Problem

My friend just upgraded her laptop from Vista to Windows 7. Now she cannot access her email folders, etc. from her Windows Mail account (which she accesses through Road Runner). All she can get now is new mail in her inbox via Web Mail. All of her other read (but not deleted) mail is gone .. along with her folders. Is there anyway she can recover her Windows mail folders? Thanks so much for any possible help
