I've just looked at your image again and I'm not certain how to set IMAP options. What folders show on accessing mail on your phone ?.
I have Gmail delete when mail is accessed using POP. This is my WLM folders for Gmail, are yours the same on your phone ?.

If you have more, its IMAP.

All my WL folders show, thankfully. The only thing I cannot do yet if it can be done at all is delete WL mail through Gmail and that it actually deletes in my WL account itself.

Just a thought from me but on your accounts do you have the setting ticked to leave a message on the server ?

It sounds like you are using the phrase "WL Mail" to refer to the webmail service Microsoft provides known as "Hotmail". It's analogous to Google's webmail service called "gmail". So it sounds like you want to keep your Hotmail address while using gmail to access all your messages. So instead of having gmail take the lead to "check your messages" you should instead have Hotmail take the lead and "forward your messages". If you do that your Hotmail Inbox will always be empty since every email sent to it will be forwarded to your gmail address. Now, no matter how you get your mail (over the web, on a phone, on a PC running an email program like WLM) you just set up an account on that device for your gmail address and don't set up an account on that device for Hotmail. Of course, you can if you want to but that inbox will always be empty.

Thanks for the response. I will look at this as another option. You are right. I am referring to hotmail and I apologise to those who are trying to help if there has been any confusion created on my part. I use gmail as my main email address for friends and family, and I use hotmail for all the other stuff. I could set up hotmail so that it could forward all messages. I just thought there was a way to have gmail access hotmail and also delete messages here and in hotmail if I choose to. I have set up my phone so that it accesses gmail through its preinstalled shortcut. I have also set my phone so that it accesses hotmail through the email shortcut on my phone which is seperate. This email option on my phone checks my hotmail messages and only certain folders and does not delete the messages if I want to do this.

I can and have done set up gmail to check both hotmail and gmail for messages and it reads all folders in hotmail but won't delete them from hotmail. I looked into what Joan suggested and there was an option for leave messages on server after checking. I left this ticked as I didn't want all messages transfered across to gmail and then deleted automatically if this is what it does. I thought there would be an easy option to do what I was wanting to do but I cant seem to find it. It looks like I will have to leave it set up the way I have on my phone. Then when I get home I log into hotmail seperatly and delete them.
