How do I delete Windows Live Mail in Gmail?

Hello, I have just managed to successfully import all my mail and folders from my windows live account into gmail. I have also added my windows live mail address to gmail so that gmail checks this and adds any incoming mail into my gmail account so that I can read all my mail in one place.

What I want to know is how can I delete messages from my windows live account in gmail so that they actually delete in my windows live account as well.

    Thanks.

Hi pageyboy, it should be possible from 'settings'. As you have a Live Mail address, it would have been easier using W Live mail (signed in) then access Gmail with it using POP3.

Thanks fo rthe response. I have looked at settings for both my live account and gmail and can't find an option anywhere. I am obviously over looking something. The reason I am using gmail as my main email is because I got a galaxy s2 phone and emails display great through it. Windows live emails don't show up so good on it.

Can you post an image of Gmail settings page on the 'Forwarding and POP/IMAP' tab. Remember to hide sensitive data.

Please excuse my silence, as I've got my foot in my mouth. I have just re read your first post.
1 Remove the account you added to Gmail.
2 Add both accounts to Windows Live Mail.
Now for the tricky bit. In your Gmail, POP & IMAP are both enabled. How do you access your mail, home PC only or other. (As both are Web based, they can be accessed on any PC by usual method) In WLM, I prefer accessing Gmail using POP, so if IMAP is not required, disable it.
I have Gmail set to delete mail when accessed using POP, (their are other options) but can still access it in Gmail if needed.
Now to your Windows mail account. I don't use mine in WLM except to sign in, then I get auto access to my contacts, and 'Safe + Blocked' sender features. If windows mail messages are deleted from WLM, I don't know if they remain as Google does or not.
    Hope this makes sense.

Excuse my ignorance, but what you are proposing above, will this allow to access all my mail through Gmail, and be able to delete WLM through Gmail as well. My main objective is to get all my mail through my new phone via Gmail and to save me logging into two accounts. I don't like the way I log into WLM on my phone and it displays my mail. Its a bit messy and buggy. Thats why I want to use Gmail as my main mail account and be able to delete mail through Gmail from my Windows Live account if this is possible.

I'll be honest with you here I am not sure. It was already preinstalled on my phone when I got it. My phone has a little gmail icon, I click on it and I am there. I particularly like it due to the way it displays emails. When I go through the internet on my phone and then log onto windows live, and then my account, a lot of the links don't work properly like "move to," and even "delete." Using gmail saves me time logging in and if will be able to work with emails better when I am mobile.
