IE Gives an Error on Opening Problem Event Name: BEX

I have been using IE forever. Tonight it decided to give me an error. Only thing I can think of that changed today was I did a windows update.. and a flash update.. But didn't reboot for the windows update. I had been on IE for about 6 hours before I got the following error. I then rebooted and ran the disk error program and I have no errors.. I uninstalled flash.. still same error. Installed Flash again.. same error..Not sure what I need to do next. I am not a techie but can follow instructions.

This looks to be an issue with Norton. Two of my computers are doing the same thing. Checkout the post here:

I can confirm I'm running Norton on both affected machines and indeed it appears a Norton update has caused havoc with IE. There's also a thread on this issue going on at eightforums which is a bit more active.

    Norton's Causing IE to fail

It seems that is the issue. I am currently using another browser and according to posts I read in the norton's forums they are aware of it and will probably come out with another update to fix what they caused,.

Yea that happens with Norton and some other security suite every once in a while.
They are not quick about keeping up with Microsoft security updates.
    Cheers.

Looks like Norton has fixed the problem with a new IPS Definition update this morning.
