Internet explorer 8 accelerator and search bar problem

Hi, my first post. I have problem with Internet Explorer 9 (EDIT: title says IE 8.. its not 8) acclerator. After adding Google accelerator, I can't click on the blue button when you highlight on texts. Nothing pops up but when I remove the Google accelerator, it works again. It seems Microsoft doesn't like Google.

Another problem is I can't add Google search in the address bar. I tried two different methods but none works. Currently its set to Bing. One method is by click the Add button in the address bar when you type a phrase. When I click ADD, it takes me to this page but Google is not listed at all which again I think Microsoft doesn't like Google. Ok now I click on Search link on the same page and I see Google listed but again its for accelerator not for address bar. That would stop my accelerator from working as I earlier mentioned. Another method for adding Google in address bar is by going from Tools > Manage add-ons which takes me to same page. Anyone know any other way to add Google as search provider for address bar? Damn Microsoft has wasted hours of my time. So frustrating.

Whenever I go to that page, I see this little circle showing as if its trying to load but nothing loads up. Shame on Microsoft that it can't even open pages from its own sites. It works sometime but mostly it doesn't. It works in Chrome fine. Damn IE has given me so much pain in the last few months. Sometime it even hangs and when I try to close it, nothing happens but closes minutes later.

That statement is confusing me. The "highlight text" feature is a feature of IE that works with all your search providers, including Google. I have Google set as my default search provider and the "highlight text" feature of IE puts Google at the top. So I have no need for a "Google accelerator". What is it supposed to add?

Welcome to Seven Forums ministry. Try this address for the Google search addon. I noticed the address you posted was /au/ . I deleted that, found the addon page, found google, changed the /en/ to /au/ and found this address.

Thanks A Guy. That gave me auto complete feature as well. Well thats where Microsoft takes me but I still don't know how you worked out by changing the url. Anyway it works fine now after I found the accelerator from Google that was supposedly for IE 8.

I am referring to this little blue accelerator icon.

Clicking on this button would do nothing. No context menu pop up at all but after I found another way to fix it, it works.

Microsoft is just making it harder for you to use anything from Google.

Depending where on where you live in the world when you add an accelerator you get it from the local Microsoft site.
Not too bad if you live in the USA as they have the most choice.
That site you first went to was au which is Australia which sucks as the choice is very limited & at the moment is not even working.
All you need to do is change the au part of the address to us & you go to the United States site plenty of choice.

Personally I think the way Microsoft treat's its customers is offensive & is one of the reasons I use another browser.

Bug? It looks more deliberate. Microsoft hates Google.
