Firefox freezing for about 20 seconds

Anyone else got troubles with FF freezing while writing a reply?

I've no problems with IE.

I've run MSSSS.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled.

I've got the same problem whether wifi or wwan.

I've, using RevoUninstall Pro, uninstalled everything down to the essentials.

Anyone else encountered this?

I run FF 7.0.1 and I have had similar problems since FF 5. Sometimes it will stop responding and I have to reboot. Thank goodness it only freezes about once a Month but it does seem to stall a lot and I have to click the link again and it will take off. It may be related to a plug-in and with the new versions every 6 weeks I hope it goes away. I will be doing a complete system re-install as soon as I get my new system (waiting on bulldozer) and give this one to the wife. So I live with it for now.

Specifically what version? Are you running the latest Nightly, Aurora, Beta or Stable version of Firefox?

Strange is that as soon as it freezes, I can run resmon.exe which will show in nice red letters that FF is not running. I wait awhile and the red turns back to red, at which time all is well until the next hang.

The latest "stable"version. If it had been anything else, then I'd have mentioned such.

Okay.
Have you tried switching to a Beta or older version? Perhaps it's only that particular version of Firefox (v7.0.1) that's freezing.

Have you also tried running Firefox in safe mode (=with all extensions disabled)?

The past couple of days I've had this problem. Everything freezes for a few seconds, can't move the mouse or do anything. The fans in my computer have been noisy recently, I don't know if it's the GPU or the CPU though. I assume that's something to do with the hot weather here at the moment? I...
