Gmail Notifier: looking for a replacement I'd like to find a replacement for the aging Gmail Notifier. Actually, it's always worked well for me but it just won't save the login/password and asks me again on every reboot. Pretty lame I think.
There have been threads like this before but they're pretty old, and I haven't really found the right thing while Googling yet.
What I'd like: - Runs in the systray.
- Alerts on new mail with a sound and a small preview bubble.
- Rightclick ability to preview new messages again; doubleclick to open Gmail in my browser.
- No feature overload if possible...this is strictly for one single Gmail account.
- Simple, self-contained app...no need for .NET or similar runtimes.
If anyone has suggestions, I'd be grateful. I'm actually using Gdow right now. It would be perfect but won't let me re-read new email notifications so if I miss something, I have to open my browser every time. | My System Specs |

Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately this one would require me to keep FF running at all times, which is a no-no. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom-built OS Windows 7 Professional SP1 32-bit CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz, overclocked to 2.7GHz Motherboard Asus PL5D2 Memory 4GB DDR2-667 (4x1GB in dual-channel config) Graphics Card nVidia GeForce 9800 GT Sound Card Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic Monitor(s) Displays Acer Screen Resolution 1920x1200 (DVI) Keyboard Standard Mouse Microsoft wireless optical mouse PSU Antec TruePower 2.0 Case Cooler Master Centurion Cooling various fans Hard Drives OCZ SSD Vertex Plus 60GB SATA (Firmware 3.55), 64MB cache

I don't have a gmail account but according to PopMan forums, users are using PopMan with it. It hasn't been updated in awhile. But I've had good luck with it over the years. I'm running on Windows 7 with no problems for checking my ISP email.
