    Windows Live Mail and Changing to Outlook - Problems.


    Help Please

    I have been experiencing problems with 'Windows Live Mail' so decided to migrate to 'Outlook'. I have managed to export/import accounts and messages. For some reason the export of contacts worked only as far as creating a CSV file though a few (say half a dozen) addresses did import OK.

    My main problem though is that despite my setting 'Outlook' as the default mail client 'Windows Live Mail' is still grabbing it all. I have been loathe to remove the accounts totally from WLM as I still cannot import my contacts fully.

    I have a nasty feeling that the continued presences of 'WLM' may well be why I cannot get 'Outlook' to operate correctly though I can send mail from it.

    are we talking MSOutlook as part of MSOffice - or Outlook Express..??

    It is MS Office Outlook (not Express) with Windows 7. Sorry I missed that bit.

Hi Our old XP machine harddrive has just died! This has OE6 on it... I'm now on a Win7 PC with Windows Live Mail... I am trying to find an import option to bring in all my old backed-up folders in the dbx format without any luck. Any suggestions? I did try Thunderbird then gave up!!
