    Email Notification Software?


    Hi

    Would anybody know of a free program that would alert me to when i receive an email?

    Email is Gmail based account using Windows Live Mail.

    Thunderbird


    It's possible to configure Thunderbird, and it will notify you when you got mail, it can be placed in tray without disturbing you...

    I asked the same question myself not too long ago. There's always Google's Gmail Notifier but it has an annoying bug: it won't save your login/password so you have to reenter it at every system boot.

    Meanwhile I've discovered POP Peeper and absolutely love it.

    POP Peeper - Email Notification

    If you decide to install it, be sure to select the IMAP plugin. You don't need any other plugins (especially not the webmail one, it's not for Gmail).
