Whoah. STOP.
"http://www.mozilas.com/download/firefox8.htm" is not the real Mozilla website. And this page looks pretty shabby and poorly written too.
I'm pretty sure there is no "Gecko 8.0" either - Gecko has completely different version numbering than FF.
Plus...if 8.0 is out when why does my 7.01 say it's the latest version? (I just doublechecked.) Beware... this smells like malware.
Yeah, so.. erm... see below. LOL.

Oh, man.
Just hours earlier someone posted a link from a non-Mozilla site that reeked of malware...I checked manually for updates in my Firefox 7.0.1 and got nothing. Pretty much spoke my mind about it too.
And now, it's actually here. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom-built OS Windows 7 Professional SP1 32-bit CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz, overclocked to 2.7GHz Motherboard Asus PL5D2 Memory 4GB DDR2-667 (4x1GB in dual-channel config) Graphics Card nVidia GeForce 9800 GT Sound Card Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic Monitor(s) Displays Acer Screen Resolution 1920x1200 (DVI) Keyboard Standard Mouse Microsoft wireless optical mouse PSU Antec TruePower 2.0 Case Cooler Master Centurion Cooling various fans Hard Drives OCZ SSD Vertex Plus 60GB SATA (Firmware 3.55), 64MB cache

Fixed link Fixed the link to the REAL Mozilla.....you may be right, didn't pay close enough attention when I posted the link....it was late and I was in a hurry after upgrading all my other pc's and converting my main x64 desktop to x64 nightly. The x64 information is correct however, Thanks for your assist.
Even though your 7.0.1 says it is the latest it WAS available last night....usually available 12-24 hours before official release, but you have to download it not just click the check for updates....it allows you to get a jump on the Millions of downloads when the upgrade link is activated which can be very frustrating waiting. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Systemax N2000 Gaming PC OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Q6600 @2.4ghz (G0 stepping) Motherboard XFX nforce 680i LT Memory 8 gb OCZ vista essential sli PC-6400 Graphics Card Dual 9800gt in SLI mode Sound Card Integrated 8.1 High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dual Sceptre x246w 24 inch monitors Screen Resolution 1920 x 1200 each monitor Keyboard MS Intelitype 6000 v2.0 Mouse MS Intelipoint 6000 PSU Cooler Master Real Power Pro 1250W Case N2000 server tower Cooling Thermaltake Bigwater 760 is Hard Drives 500 GB SATA II / 7500 rpm Internet Speed Wi-power 1.5GB up / 512k down Other Info Windows 7 Ultimate x64, Windows 7 Pro x64, Windows Home Premium X86, Windows XP pro, Windows Home Server x86, Ubuntu 10.4 x86 and x64, Ubuntu server 10.4, SQL Server 2005, MySQL 5.0 |
