Importing Favourites into Internet Explorer 9

I am trying to import my old Favourites folder from Mozilla into Internet Explorer 9.

The bookmarks are saved in a folder on a back-up drive.

In Internet Exlporer I go to:
    File\ImportExport\Import from a file\Favourites\Browse

When I click onto the back-up folder I have called Favourites I cannot import its contents.

The Folder has subfolders in it. I cannot seem to pull all these folders and their contents into IE9.

Is there way to simply copy and paste the older folders into the IE9 Favourites folder. I can't find this folder in the new IE9 file structure.

    Thanks

The proper way to do this is to export the firefox bookmarks into a html format, that can then be imported from inside of internet explorer.
I don't know what you have but the fact that it consist of multiple folders kind of rules out it being a html file.

I did not export them originally into html format. I simply cut the folders from the favourites file in Mozilla Fire Fox and saved to my back-up Drive.

Is there any way I can convert to html and import into EI9 or import into IE9 is the format they are in?

    Thanks

There are a couple possibilities, although may be a strech.

You copied...or actually cut (for some reason) the files out of the moz favs folder...i think you used robocopy or a similar command, and depending on the options you used during the robocopy, you may or may not have altered the files/folders in ways that might affect their use by IE (i.e. the permissions may or may not have been maintained, etc.)

So do you still have mozilla installed, or on the computer it came from intact, just minus the favorits you cut out?

this would make the first method a lot easier to do... let me know

Reinstall Firefox copy your back up folders back into Firefox & then export them as html.
