Firefox 8.0 - Show Google on new Tab

    Hi All,

Does anyone know how to configure firefox so that it opens google when I open a new tab?

    Firefox version is 8.0.
I know its an old version but I don't like the styling of the new one so I dont want to update it.

    Thanks

Hello there, install TabMix add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir.../tab-mix-plus/

Go to Firefox button and select Addons. In Add-ons Manager click on TabMix and select Options.
    There do this :

After that when you open new tab Google should be opened.

Thanks StalkeR! I've been all over the net without success not even associating W7 with Google. Something said "It won't hurt" and voila... good as new!

I did something on Firefox so that I could type searches in the address bar. I forgot how I did it. When looking for the procedure I found something better. This lets you type an abbreviation for the search engine, then the search term, in the Firefox address bar like you can in Chrome:

    Google Chrome’s Omnibar in Firefox

I thought it may be of interest since you can access all your search plugins.
