IE9 issue

I'm stumped! My wife uses IE9 and her machine and has a problem that I can't solve having spent several hours trying.

Her friends send her links to their YouTube videos but they won't play --- hang up after starting for a few seconds. The same video will play fine on two other machines that are set up the same (I think).

I've checked through the internet options, plus googleing for info, and have the right video players available for YouTube.

Suggestions?

Turn off hardware acceleration in IE9, use software rendering instead.

Hummm, there in may lie part of the problem.

In Internet options, no advanced options show. I tried reseting and still nothing. You know how to repair this?

Run a scan of Malwarebytes
The Advanced options should be available unless being disabled by an external program

An SFC can may fix any corrupt system files
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Additionally reset IE
Internet Explorer - Reset
