Windows 7: Windows Live Mail slower response than usual

Win7x64, all updates, 4GB, 300GB, 180GBfree, Intel i3

WLM was quick as one could want till two days ago. Don't know what happened but now changing from one folder to another takes 10 to 15 seconds. Where to start looking for the holdup?

Either system corruption, ISP slow down, ore malware.

I would start with a malwarebytes scan.

Full Avast AV, and Malwarebytes (full updates) shows no infected files. Yippee for that, but WLM is still painfully slow.

Can you check event viewer for relevant entries?

There are several ways to find what the problem is. The best is to go into event viewer (type eventvwr in search). Event viewer (local) and look for errors listed in the last day, week, etc. Then go to the windows log>application tab. Finally the windows Logs>system tabs.

You want to look for all errors (they have red in the left column ).

When you find them you want to look for errors that say app hang, app crash, or anything that relates to WLM

When you find them please note the event ID, and the source codes and tell us what they are.
