Receiving error 0x800ccc0e when trying to send/receive in WLM

This problem just started today and I am a bit confused when I try to get my email on WLM I get the above error. I am going through my ISP and using POP3 the POP setting is pop.midstatesd.net and smtp.midstatesd.net all of the setting are correct so not sure why I am getting the error. I should mention that I am connecting using a laptop with a Dlink router and do not have any issues connecting to the internet.
I am unable to ping the pop.midstatesd.net so figured something was set wrong on the router but cannot find any thing that would be blocking it there.
anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

    thanks

Check accounts properties advanced tab. SMTP is port 465 or 587 / POP3 is port 995.

My ISP tells me the pop port settings should be 110 and the smtp at 25 and that is what I have. also should say that it is working just fine on another computer with the same settings.

All I can think for you to do is to re check your settings 'pop.midstatesd.net and smtp.midstatesd.net' for spelling errors.

I have the same exact problem on a friends PC, he cannot send at all. I have the server and set him and myself with emails from his domain, the email I set up for me works great, the email set up for him doesn't, no sending of mails. Same domain same spelling, same OS same everything. I have gone in to his PC via teamviewer and triple checked all the settings and zilch, his doesn't work. I even set up two other email accounts, exactly the same way and they don't send out either. Webmail no problemo, WLM no way jose, even tried Tbird and couldn't even get the configuration done lmao, just weird.
