Huge Temporary Internet Files Directory! How to clean?

    Hello,

I have Windows 7 Professional x64 for 6-7 months and I noticed i get low on free space on C:
Temporary Internetet Files had 18.5 GB !! After reading the forum I found out how to delete some of the files.
    Now it's "only" 17.7 GB

I already cleaned all the hidden directorys from C:\Users\DoiCromoY\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5
    (about 300 MB)

Also found some in C:\Users\DoiCromoY\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Low\Content.IE5
    (cleaned about 600 MB)

After this why it shows that my TIF have 17GB? More hidden files or some kind of bug

    Thanks

So is your Temporary Internet Files folder now empty?

You can delete pretty much everything under there, though if you were having IE auto login to websites and stuff you will have to relog in, so hopefully you have all your passwords :)

A safer way to delete temp internet files though is from IE itself. Click the gear->Internet Options->General tab->Delete Browsing History . There are several categories of things to delete.

You can also go to Manage Addons on the Programs tab on the same dialog. You may have a bunch of addons or maybe some ones you don't know about!

So is it empty? Or are there still files in there? Try looking around inside that folder... I assume you have hidden files and folders turned on or would not have seen the "AppData" folder since you navigated through it already.
