Suddenly losing Home Page settings in IE8

In both my 32 bit and 64 bit version of IE 8 (ver. 8.0.7601.17514)...whenever I close and open the browser the Home Page reverts to about:blank.

Whether I change the home page in an open internet tools session...or close the browser and change via control panel/internet options...upon restart the settings are changed back to home page = about:blank ?

Any ideas on what's doing this and how to reset my home page to the normal page and make it stick ?

    Thanks...TRinAZ

Believe it or not, this may be malware. Try this program, and see if it finds anything:

    CWShredder

Also, download both MalwareBytes Free and Superantispyware Free and run them both. This is likely a hijacker, and not simply an IE nuisance.

    Hello TRinAZ,

In addition to making sure that your system is malware free from above, you could use the tutorial below to specify a homepage in Internet Explorer and prevent it from being changed.

    Hope this helps,
