Windows 7: Gmails' at it now

Couldn't get WLM to work with anything but hotmail and now the Gmail account I just set up for her is greyed out and has some ridiculous "new look" interface that I can't get rid of to get started

I don't think you can go back to the old layout but there are plenty of themes to brighten it up.

you can still get the old look gmail by clicking on the 'settings cog':

No go fellas it's probably the machine itself or XP - so have gone to the new look at least it gets her out of a spot. Plus I have got that WLM to work only it has to be a hotmail account it won't accept her usual address -just means letting everyone know the change which is a bit of a pain but....

Never tried POP3. I've always wanted to keep mine on the GMail servers as a backup.

I must admit I don't know much about the finer points of ins and outs channels but I only get POP3 whenever I do up emails for myself or anyone else.

Suppose I had better do a bit of research on it but am cramped for time as there is so much to catch up on as I have only been "at it" (computing in earnest) for the last two years.

Should have started sooner eh?

You should look at setting your gmail as imap, it's a far better system.
